Since 2018, we have provided meals to over 300 low-income families in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In the years to come, we aim to play a role in establishing a food-secure community across various cities in Texas.

Our Philosophy

When Davis Martin founded our organization in Texas, he applied a lesson that he learned while pitching for his high school baseball team to serve as its foundation: Kaizen. The Japanese term that means “continuous improvement” has been our driving force ever since. As Davis used to say, we may not be able to change the world or the lives of these families in one moment, but through a continuous process of understanding, we can take small steps each and every day towards that goal. And that is what we aim to do.

Our Story

In 2015, a group of high school students in New Orleans, LA began providing Thanksgiving meal baskets to underprivileged families across the city. That year, they raised close to $2000 to provide meals to 20 families, and since then have expanded their projects across three states: Louisiana, Texas, and Alabama. In 2018, the Kaizen Project was born and began operating out of Dallas-Fort Worth. In 2022, our project aims to provide meals to families across the cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, Galveston, and Lubbock, taking a step towards alleviating food insecurity across the state of Texas.
